Optional multi-bay, multi-storey rigid frame — tributary-area gravity loads (AS 1170.1), simplified regional wind (AS 1170.2) and equivalent-static seismic (AS 1170.4) loads, distributed to columns and beams by the portal method.

Pattern (checkerboard) live loading: dead load stays on every bay, but live load is applied only to odd-numbered bays (1, 3, 5…) — even bays carry dead load only. This is the classic worst case for continuous-frame span moments, and it also induces a real gravity-only column bending moment at interior joints (from the beams' unbalanced fixed-end moments either side of the joint) that a uniformly-loaded frame doesn't produce. See Tabs 2, 4, 5 and 7 for where it shows up.
Set the frame up here, then use the tabs above to see the gravity load analysis and the wind/seismic lateral analysis. Column and beam design against these demands (Phase 2) is on the "4 · Member Design" tab.
This detail applies to reinforced-concrete beam-column joints. Set both Column material and Beam material to RCC on Tab 1 to use it.
